cool morning glare and tangled cacti
This sketch really doesn't capture anything of what I want to capture. But it somehow showed me that it would be something I really want to paint. I'm not sure but I think it probably needs to be in oil - to get the fuzziness of the light.
Oil requires time and space (and if I start with acrylic I might not have the same desire to do it in oil again afterwards). Equally, if I do it in oil I might get frustrated and lose interest in trying to capture the thing that's inspired me. also, if I get the easel out one of the kids is going to want to do a painting at the same time.
I guess I need to get another easel. And paint during school hours.
I can start by working on the composition though. Perhaps understanding how shapes fit in front and behind of others - as that's part of what is capturing my interest.
